Rivalries are competitive, historic and most importantly, fun.

It should come as no surprise that this weekend’s hotly anticipated match up between Michigan and in-state rival Michigan State has developed into one of the biggest contests between the two teams in years. There is not much that gets a heart pumping like a rivalry game. Michigan fans struck first, by sneaking onto the MSU campus and defacing several landmarks, including a statue of Magic Johnson. “And there’s a few idiots on our side too that do a few insane things”.

Elliott joked that Magic “never looked so good” as when painted yellow but said the action “definitely strays from the tradition of going after Sparty”. But messing with Magic, that’s the worst thing.

And our radio coverage of Grand Valley State football continues Saturday with the Lakers playing at home against Michigan Tech with the broadcast on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 beginning Saturday night at 6 p.m.

Michigan State basketball player Alvin Ellis tweeted out a picture of the damage Thursday morning. “If suspects are identified, they will face criminal charges”. He also appears regularly on numerous talk shows all across the country.
