Infection could cause Pouncey to miss the entire season

According to NFL Media, the offensive lineman is experiencing complications after having surgery on his ankle, and is expected to undergo a second procedure.

“The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Carolina Panthers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers” Pouncey underwent the second procedure due to an infection caused by a metal plate.

According to Bouchette, the second surgery is because of an infection. He was placed on injured reserve but was designated for return, meaning if he was ready he’d be eligible to come back for the Steelers in November. during Week 9 of the regular season.

The Steelers Maurkice Pouncey has hit a major bump on his road to recovery after hurting his leg back in late August. He returned to play every game last season and earn his second All-Pro honors and fourth Pro Bowl. Backup center Cody Wallace has started all five games in Pouncey’s absence.

Pouncey, a two-time First-Team All-Pro selection, sustained a broken fibula in a preseason game against Green Bay, when Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix fell into his leg.
