Gowdy: Benghazi probe, Clinton testimony, is about facts
The chairman of the House Benghazi Committee had a message Sunday for his GOP colleagues: “Shut up talking about things that you don’t know anything about”. She said, ‘I wish for once Mrs. Clinton would be prepared to stand and be held accountable for murder of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya.’ What do you make that have comment, and is that what Thursday is about? Representative Kevin McCarthy, the majority whip and No 2 House Republican, stoked that view last month when he said in an interview that the panel’s work may be hurting Clinton’s poll numbers. Rep. Richard Hanna (R-N.Y.) and Bradley F. Podliska, a former Republican staffer on the committee, also called the investigation politically motivated.

“They don’t have any idea what the facts are”, he said.
“If you look at the facts, we have done 50 witnesses, one of whom you could argue was exclusively related to her email, that was shortest interview we have done”, he continued. And the staffer – whose charges Gowdy has dismissed as “salacious allegations” – has no idea what the committee has done since June, he said.
Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., wrote a letter to committee chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., saying that the CIA had debunked Gowdy’s claims that Clinton sent emails with “some of the most protected information in our intelligence community, the release of which could jeopardize not only national security but human lives”. At another point, Clinton aide Victoria Nuland asked Stevens for advice on “public messaging” on the increasingly risky situation in the region, Gowdy said. “Because she’s untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had happened had we not fought”. “He said Stevens” emails illustrate “the total disconnect between what was happening in Libya” and the requests he was receiving from the State Department. Clinton is agreed to be scheduled to testify before the committee Thurs. Clinton “was not involved in the decision with regard to the security on the ground there and it also addresses the issue of whether she was responsible for this illicit gun running between Libya and Syria”. “We know what’s been going on”. “I want to know why certain things made it to your inbox, madam secretary, but the…pleadings of our own ambassador that you put in place for more security never bothered to make it to your inbox”. They couldn’t name three witnesses we’ve talked to.
“It’s a sad day for all of us because we made a commitment to the families”, Cummings told Face The Nation.
He also said that his investigation has yielded “more information on our military preparedness and our inability-slash-ability to respond”, although he can not share that information publicly. “Less than 5 percent have anything to do with Secretary Clinton”.

Hillary Clinton’s upcoming testimony before Congress’ special Benghazi committee is being hyped as the biggest moment in the panel’s controversial existence.
