Floyd Mayweather Jr. Vs. Gennady Golovkin: 2016 Megafight
Golovkin had to be careful though not to get disqualified as he continued punching Lemieux while he was on one knee, before the referee stepped between them.

Presidential candidate Donald Trump greeted Golovkin in his locker room before the right.
You have to give credit to Lemieux and the promoters, who have done a good job of looking credible. “I give my fans and friends a big show”, said Golovkin, who was headlining his first HBO PPV event.
“He’s not finished. He’s a good businessman”.
“Actually I was expecting a bit more power from him”.
Golovkin is still searching for that big name victory to add to his victory, but he has soundly defeated every opponent placed in front of him.
“Golovkin and Lemieux (34-2) meet at Madison Square Garden in a matchup that will crown a unified World Middleweight Champion”. David fought valiantly. He showed a lot of heart and skills. “I am an aggressive fighter and I am confident in my abilities”. Sanchez even told On The Ropes Boxing that “in the fourth round Golovkin knocks” Lemieux out. Because Golovkin, 33, is no longer avoided, not in the sense that people refuse to go near him. Then GGG hit Lemieux while he was down.
Behind the jab, Golovkin threw his trademark left hooks to head and body, punctuated by punches from the right. Lemieux was bending forward from the pain of Golovkin’s body shots, and it was only a matter of time before he was put out of his misery.
“He’s a good boy”, Golovkin likes to say about his various opponents. The bloodied Lemieux had been examined a round earlier so the referee was watching closely.
A victory over Lemieux would not only mean another win and title, it would also represent Golovkin’s graduation to the next level of the boxing totem pole.
Gennady Golovkin’s pay-per-view debut didn’t quite live up to the hype, but only because challenger David Lemieux didn’t deserve to be in the same ring. “I would love a shot at any of the Golden Boy Promotions fighter at 140 pounds, like Antonio Orozco, I can take him”.
Golovkin was ahead by the same score, 70-62, on all three scorecards when the fight was stopped.
“I had to do something”, Willis said.
“I’ll keep my mouth shut tonight”, said Lemieux, whose face was marked and red. I am going to come after him.
Willis said he had no choice but to stop the beating. It was a clean stoppage of a fight that was only going to get worse for Lemieux.
“I respect Bernard. He is a legend”.
The addition of a second major title is only part of Golovkin’s plan to acquire all four major belts.
Cotto and Alvarez are facing off on November 21 for Cotto’s WBC middleweight title.
That, of course, remains to be seen. Fortunately, all of those potential fights are politically makeable.
Besides, the general public still has bad vibes from last spring’s Fight of the Century-ish between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
So is there a fighter out there who can make boxing fans pry open their wallets and spend their hard-earned cash by giving them more bang for their buck? According to Golovkin’s manager Tom Loeffler, whoever emerges will have 15 days to state their intentions to challenge Gennady. “It’s very important to find out who is the best in the middleweight division”.
Former champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley also predicted on thaboxingvoice that the younger fighter “might not even go a couple of rounds, maybe 2 or 3 rounds maybe” against “GGG”.

“This is the biggest test for me”, Golovkin said. Sort of. There are plenty of times that boxing can be earth’s most maddening sport-imagine a herd of cats trying to organize a herd of cats-but there’s a general recognition that boxing needs a new star, a next wave, a few fresh energy to offset ambivalence and inertia of superstars in sunset. I want all the belts. I am a little waiting, not insane attack, not insane style, like street fight.
