Mulcair insists election still three-way race at campaign stop in Burnaby

“If the leader of the NDP is suggesting that I had any information to the contrary from Mr. Wright prior to this, that is completely false”, Harper retorted.

New Democrats gathered in the place that brought them their biggest boost of morale this year for an enthusiastic campaign rally based on their message that Canadians who want change have a different choice available this election. It marks the third time during this lengthy federal election campaign he has focused on Alberta’s capital. Mulcair roared, seeming to devote most of his enthusiasm for the anti-Liberal portion of his speech, despite otherwise arguing the battle in Alberta ridings is one between New Democrats and Conservatives.

He said the victor – him, of course – would have an obligation to do so “very rapidly”. “But so too do Quebecers need to be reminded that our country needs them to engage, too”.

Mulcair was also asked how long he thought would be appropriate for whichever party does achieve a plurality of seats Monday to wait before meeting Parliament.

It’s not that Layton’s name has been absent from Mulcair’s campaign.

“Undergoing such a contest at such a painful time – with the media and other parties posing as judge and jury – was an especially unwelcome burden”. The leaders of three major political parties have their ridings in the city.

Then Mulcair turned his attention to his opponents.

“We’ve been told for a long time that this was a …” “It was a matter of getting to know him and watching him … He’s the person I want to defeat and replace”.

Others are calling out the other leaders, like Gavin.

Yet, Mulcair danced around a question about whether one way to tackle the issue is to transport more crude oil through underground pipelines.

Tom Mulcair is a well connected guy, historically speaking.

And that’s just the problem: the NDP has risen to opposition not through a new and exciting vision for Canada, but through an increased ability to sound as politically bland and unthreatening as the Liberals and Conservatives already do. “I believe that he truly is the leader and the candidate for leadership in this election that demonstrates the grit, the determination and the intellect”, Notley said Friday.

But we know New Democrats won’t increase taxes on Canada’s richest individuals – that’s a Liberal promise this time around.

“Boy, if there’s anyone to take on Stephen Harper, it is Thomas Mulcair”. A Conservative government that wanted all of us to think that change wasn’t possible and that Albertans weren’t ready for that change.

Anderson says Mulcair’s 3rd great-grandfather, Pierre-Joseph-Olivier Chauveau headed a Conservative government as the first Premier of Quebec in 1867.

But Mulcair insists he isn’t concerned.

“I think I really represent the voters in this riding”, said Bendayan.

British Columbia is an important battleground in the federal election and remains a three-way race between the NDP, the Conservatives and the Liberals, each party holding roughly 30 per cent support according to threehundredeight.com.
