Three of Saturday’s shootings took place in the flashpoint West Bank city of Hebron, where a few 500 Jewish settlers live in a heavily guarded enclave in the city centre.

In the second attack, a Palestinian girl attempted to stab a female Israeli soldier outside a border guard base before being shot dead by her would-be victim, Israeli police said.
Israeli police said one of the attackers was shot dead, while the other was critically injured.
Three Israeli police officers and another alleged Palestinian assailant were wounded in the incidents.
The latest round of violence has been partly fueled by Palestinian anger at what they see as increased Jewish encroachment on the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem, holy to both Muslims and Jews.
In response to the recent violence, Israel has deployed 300 soldiers and built concrete barriers outside Arab neighborhoods of east Jerusalem, where most of the attackers have come from, in response to the attacks, report the Associated Press.
A group of ultra-Orthodox Jews attempting to illegally visit a holy site in the West Bank set ablaze last week were assaulted by Palestinians while five were also arrested, authorities said Sunday. He also denounced Israel for “inciting” against the Palestinians.
It repeated the call for an worldwide commission of inquiry into Israeli “crimes” against Palestinians.
Seven Israelis have been killed and dozens wounded in the recent violence, while 37 Palestinians have died and hundreds more been wounded in clashes.
Numerous attackers have been Palestinian youth, and a local police commander at the scene of Saturday’s incident pleaded for their parents to restrain them.
Netanyahu, who is planning to travel to Germany this week for talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel, may also meet there with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who has expressed concern about the mounting violence, the Haaretz newspaper reported, citing unidentified Israeli officials.
Another statement said Mr Kerry had a call with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday and “reiterated the importance of avoiding further violence and preventing inflammatory rhetoric, accusations”.
The evening attack in the southern city was the first after a day in which unrest between Palestinians and Israelis seemed to somewhat ebb, following more than two weeks of relentless violence. Other security measures include ID checks and requiring a few Palestinian residents to lift their shirts and roll up pant legs as they exit their neighbourhoods to prove they are not carrying knives. Security camera footage from the station aired on Israeli TV showed what appeared to be a civilian shooting the attacker as soldiers and civilians crouched for cover nearby.
The military said a few 30 Jews descended upon the Joseph’s Tomb compound in Nablus, a site revered by Jews as the tomb of the biblical figure Joseph.
Police say the attack occurred at the Qalandia crossing between the city and the West Bank, lightly wounding a member of the paramilitary border police.
