Weekly Gas Report: Rockford gas returns to steady decline
Gas prices in South Florida are dipping again and should fall further by the end of the year, travel club AAA said. That contributed to the slip in gas prices.

New numbers from gasbuddy.com show the nationwide average is down by seven-cents per gallon over the last week.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration forecasts oil will average $49.53 this year and climb to $53.57 next year, signaling that these low gasoline prices shouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
Prices in southwestern Pennsylvania are still 98 cents per gallon lower than this time previous year, when prices averaged $3.35 a gallon.
Averages in Detroit as of Sunday were $2.35 per gallon.
“We’re experiencing relatively small gas price drops right now because of the still-volatile situation with Southern California supply”, said Auto Club spokesman Jeffrey Spring.
Weighing down prices: slower growth in China, which reduces demand for oil.
“The gasoline price environment remains vastly improved versus a year ago: just 13.4 percent of the nation’s gas stations are selling at over $2.50 per gallon today, while a year ago, 100% of stations were over that mark”.

AAA found self-serve, regular selling for as low as $1.92 per gallon and as high as $2.55. Those prices are down from about $2.16 a week ago.
