As part of his sentence, the teenager will be in Waseca County Jail for three weeks before being transferred to a treatment facility in Georgia.

In September, LaDue pleaded guilty to one felony count of possessing explosives. He will not have to serve that sentence if he completes treatment and undergoes supervision in a halfway house.
In exchange for his guilty plea, the other charges against him were dropped.
In court, the judge said LaDue has autism and is fascinated by violence.
“Experts say that treating Mr. LaDue as a pariah is what not to do”, he said, adding residents have a role to play in LaDue’s future and in making sure the community remains safe, the Waseca Daily News reports.
The now 18 year old was arrested in 2014 after authorities found bomb making materials in his bedroom and storage unit.
Both Waseca County Attorney Brenda Miller and Stephen Ferrazzano from the public defender’s office said they were satisfied with the sentence and LaDue’s placement at Devereux Georgia in Kennesaw, Georgia. LaDue planned to go to the Waseca Junior/Senior High School, where he wanted to set off numerous bombs during lunch, kill the school resource officer, start fires and then shoot students and staff.

LaDue declined to say anything before the judge sentenced him. He initially was charged as a juvenile with attempted murder and eight other counts. But the attempted murder and property-damage charges were dismissed, and a judge later certified him to stand trial as an adult.
