Police question Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel in domestic
He reportedly was involved in a domestic dispute and his girlfriend said that he hit her a couple times. Satisfied with his sobriety, and with his girlfriend’s well being, the police allowed the couple to proceed on their way after investigating the matter for 27 minutes at 6:20 p.m. on Monday. According to CBS News, Manziel admitted that he had consumed alcohol before the argument.

Audio from the first 911 call corroborated the claim that Manziel’s contact with Crowley was not limited to Crowley’s forearm and wrist.
This new material does little to clear up the mystery of what really happened between Manziel and Crowley.
Following his rocky rookie seasaon, Manziel spent 70 days in a Pennsylvania rehab facility during the offseason for an unknown condition.
For a guy trying to get and keep his life together, it’s a red flag, bright and persistent as the lights on top of the police cars that pulled up to Manziel on Monday afternoon. The Browns supported Manziel’s decision, and the team since brought him slowly back into the fold.
“If you think that we’re just turning a cheek to this and ignoring it, you’d be dead wrong”, Pettine said.
The quarterback has been now relegated to back-up duties and was in uniform on Sunday despite the ongoing investigation, both by police and the NFL.
Manziel dismissed the incident as a spat with his girlfriend, whom police said was intoxicated.
Owner Jimmy Haslam and general manager Ray Farmer did not meet with the media. ESPN reports that Colleen Elizabeth Crowley, a TCU student, threw the quarterback’s wallet out the window after he refused to hand over her phone playing music in the auto. “It’s a process and we’re supporting him through it”. Manziel is definitely on thin ice, however, and it would be surprising to see him on the field at any point in the near future. TMZ reports that she posted on Instagram earlier, “J & I are good”. “It probably looked more interesting than it was and I know I would stop and check if I saw a couple arguing on the side of the road”. “I appreciate the people who stopped to check on us and call the police”.
“Fortunately, it was just an argument, it was private, and we’re all good”, Crowley wrote. Think that would make it resonate a bit more with the public?
Although Pettine would not discuss the discipline or potential ramifications of Manziel’s actions, he did agree with the assessment that his using the shoulder of the highway as a passing lane and cutting across several lanes of traffic did put others at risk.
This is the second high-profile incident involving alcohol that the Browns have had to deal with recently.

Browns linebacker Karlos Dansby said Manziel has not become a distraction to the team and he sympathizes with him living in the spotlight.
