Russell Brand pans ‘futile’ minute of silence for Tunisia shooting victims

However self-styled revolutionary Russell Brand has slammed the one-minute’s silence as “absolute bull****”.

After Russell Brand raked up the fury this morning by making some more self aggrandizing headlines saying there should not be silence at noon to honour the dead of the most recent terrorist attack in Tunisia.

“OK, so you may not want to observe a minute’s silence as a mark of respect to those who died”. But to trash their memory and denounce that silence as ‘total bulls***’ is disgusting.

However, individuals have hit back at Russell Brand’s comments.

He said: “As long as during that time, they continue to sell arms, they continue to bomb foreign countries- they have no interest in a solution”. Fans in England have started a petition for him to go to the Middle East permanently following his controversial Trews video about the Tunisia massacre.

He finished: “If you respect those people [that died] then demand that your Government stops selling arms to countries on its own human rights abuse list, demand that your government stops carrying out foreign wars on behalf of corporations”. Various people on Twitter made it clear that the two minute silence is a way for the family members and friends of the victims to remember their lost loved ones. Earlier this year Brand said he has never voted and never would as the UK’s political system has created a “disenfranchised, disillusioned underclass” that it fails to serve.

Britain held a moment of silence last week for the victims of the shooting on a beach resort. One Twitter user even questioned how Brand was willing to use the deaths of 38 innocent people as his platform to attack the government.
