The parents of Melda Ilgin put her in a mini-lilo whilst they relaxed and enjoyed their day at a beach in Çanakkale, Turkey, BGN News reports. According to Sky News, onlookers applauded when the baby was returned to dry land and handed to her relieved mother.
A 10-month-old girl floating towards Greece has been rescued after her family forgot she was in the water.
You can see the baby girl, Melda Ilgin, floating in a blow-up crib about 1,000 yards off the beach.
On Friday, winds pushed Melda Ilgin far out into the Aegean Sea, off the western coast of Turkey, without her parents’ noticing, The Telegraph reported. By the time the coastguard got to Melda she was already 1km from shore.
Beachgoers reportedly tried to save her, but could not.
