Dwyane Wade Stays In Miami, Agrees To One-Year Deal
If the deal goes through, Wade may end up finishing his career with the Heat.

It has been an honor and privilege to play with the Miami Heat the past 12 years.
The agreement raised Wade’s pay from the $16.1 million guaranteed he forfeited when he used his player option but did not serve his objective of nabbing a long-term contract.
“This contract is a win-win for both Dwyane and the Heat“, Thomas wrote.
After a weeks-long contract negotiation and a litany of rumors as to where he might end up, Dwyane Wade informed the Miami Heat on Thursday that he would remain a member of the Heat. Wade’s health is the biggest question mark, but he showed last season that when he is healthy, he is still one of the best players in the National Basteball Association. “There’s no doubt about that”.
If the Heat stay healthy this year, Wade fancies his team’s chances in the league.
Three-time National Basteball Association champion Dwyane Wade chose to stay in Miami for next season, while Tim Duncan is playing on for a 19th season. Between Miami and Phoenix, he averaged 16.3 points in 78 games. His points-per-48-minutes of 32.4 ranked relatively close to elite scorers like Stephen Curry (34.9), LeBron James (33.6) and Carmelo Anthony (32.5). Shelburne said on SportsCenter that Riley wants to have cap flexibility moving forward and that is why he signed Wade to a one year deal.
“Sitting down with Nick, sitting down with Micky and having conversations with them that I’ve never had, that was big for me”, the ex- Marquette star said. “I thought was pretty good individually”. Winslow was the 10th pick in the National Basteball Association basketball draft last week.
The next move belonged to Wade, who is headed to free agency again. It’s unclear if they will speak to Wade directly or just his representatives, if such a meeting occurs. Heat president Pat Riley has likewise expressed long-standing confidence in Miami’s ability to retain him, saying at a season-ending media availability two months ago: “If he doesn’t sign, my ass will be in that seat [next to reporters] next year”. Moving players like Mario Chalmers and Chris Andersen could help this trade happen as well, but if Williams has any mutual interest of coming to Miami at all, the Heat have to make this happen. Reports claim that Wade is seeking a three-year deal worth more than $45 million.

Conversations with Heat CEO Nick Arison and managing general partner Micky Arison made Wade feel secure in returning to the franchise he leads all-time in games, minutes, points, assists and steals.
