Daily Local News: Fireworks set to light up the sky

The best viewing is from Castle Field (near Anoka High School) at 4001 7th Avenue. The fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m.

The City of Dewey will begin their Fourth of July festivities on Saturday at 4 pm in Don Tyler Park.

In Haines City, Thunder on the Ridge, which draws the biggest crowd in East Polk, will put on a $30,000, half-hour long fireworks show following a day of activities at Lake Eva Park. In addition, many towns are hosting parades, carnivals, concerts and other events. Fun for families – includes patriotic music, a reading of the Declaration of Independence and a parade led by the world’s tallest Uncle Sam. Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. There is no admission. Fireworks at dusk.

■The Aquafina Butte to Butte foot races are July 4, with competitive 10K and 5K runs and a 4.5-mile walk. Fireworks start at 9:00 p.m. Admission is free. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.

Each year the Leisure Services Department does “something big” in addition to its fireworks show. Residents will need to travel to attend one of these nearby July 4 celebrations. The fireworks will go off after dark. See a complete list of events here.

OBERLIN – Fireworks start just after dusk Saturday.

Laurel – Fireworks at dusk. Celebrations will begin at 2 p.m. with vendors and music. There are several fireworks displays scheduled at the Orlando, Florida theme park. Food vendors will be set up on the field and a DJ will be spin music on the lawn in front of the municipal building. A wide variety of special events are happening on and around the Fourth of July holiday. Musical performances by the Grinder’s Switch Hour and The Double Down Band will begin at 6 p.m. Free ice cream will also be available at the event. Live music and family activities will take place from 6-10 p.m. The Port of Redwood City will hold the fireworks show. Note: Main Street will close at 8 p.m. from Barker to the Marathon gas station for the event. The parade will begin at Lincoln High School parking lot at 555 Dana Ave.at 10 a.m. and will end at the corner of The Alameda and Lenzen Avenue. And fireworks will fly every night of the event, the park promises. At 8 p.m., The Rude Band hits the stage.

Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum hosts a free fireworks show. Minch Park is located on West 4th Avenue and South Gay Street.

St. Cloud: The 68th year of fireworks begins at 10 p.m. Saturday.

“They should take the bus, walk or ride their bikes and refrain from driving, because China Bridge will only have limited parking”, Fine said. Fireworks will be at 10 p.m. with accompanying Rock and Roll Oldies music from 93.5 FM-WRQN.

Independence Day celebrations will take place throughout the Peninsula on Saturday, July 4. Whether it’s by taking a cruise down the Potomac River or watching from the US Marine Corps War Memorial, Washington D.C.is a great location for the fireworks.

The July Fourth fun will continue the next morning with the Thomas-Mashburn Steam Engine Parade. Sure Navy Pier is the home of fireworks twice a week all the way until Labor Day, but their Independence Day show is supposed to be top notch so don’t miss it!
