DeMarre Carroll says he’s heading to the Raptors
Carroll is regarded as one of the best wing defenders in the National Basteball Association.

Ujiri, then with the Denver Nuggets, brought Carroll in on a minimum salary back in 2011 before letting him go a few months later.
The ex- Atlanta Hawk announced the deal on his Twitter and Instagram accounts.
After bouncing around the league for his first four years, Carroll blossomed last season with the Hawks. Last season, they were eliminated in the first round by the Wizards largely because of Paul Pierce and his ability to expose the Raptors’ weakness at the small forward position.
The Pistons already previously lost out on their primary target, Danny Green, who re-signed with the San Antonio Spurs.
This is the ex- Missouri standout’s biggest contract so far and reports said that he is excited to play for Toronto come October.
Like anything else that has gotten in his way, Carroll didn’t let that stop him.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Raptors can’t officially sign Carroll until July 9 when the NBA’s free-agent moratorium ends. The per season number is expected to be between $12-$15 million even though Matthews carries some risk as he’s recovering from a torn Achilles he suffered in March. The addition of Tim Hardaway, Jr. on draft night was meant to shore up depth at the position and to add another scorer off the bench.

The Raptors will also be missing Amir Johnson. For a Raptors squad that was a bottom-eight team in defensive efficiency past year and often saw three or four guys stand around as Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, or Lou Williams over-dribbled and jacked up a contested long two early in the shot clock, Carroll’s presence will be nothing short of game-changing.
