Dynamo Kiev face action over “racist” fans

When the men, who were also supporting Dynamo, tried to escape, they appeared to be attacked by other fans in the stand.

Dynamo Kiev has been charged by UEFA for the alleged racist behavior of its fans during Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Chelsea.

They also face a charge of blocking stairways and crowd disturbances.

That is a pointed reference at the FA for letting off Arsene Wenger for making those remarks about Mike Dean while Mourinho got heavily punished for a referee rant.

Despite the pressure being placed on the squad from fans and pundits alike, the lads put forth what many believed was their best performance of the season.

The footage, which is presumed to have had a few influence in instigating the body’s action against Dynamo, was obtained by anti-discrimination group Fare and sent to UEFA.

FARE’s executive director Piara Powar said the incident had been captured on camera and told PA: “Usually we do not go public with these sort of reports – but we thought the footage was so serious that it should be shared with the media”.

On Monday night, a number of Chelsea fans were attacked at the Shato Brewery bar in Kiev.

Given that UEFA fined Dynamo €15,000 last March as the result of fans’ racist behavior during a Europa League match, you can expect a more severe punishment this time around.
