Back in Dallas in orange and purple, Tyson Chandler emphasized that he held no hard feelings towards the Mavericks after they let him walk this summer in pursuit of DeAndre Jordan. Cuban said. “You don’t see us blaming it on the players”. “I walked my son into the arena and I already have my name on the rafters up there (on the championship banner), but I wanted to have my jersey up like”. After trading for Chandler last summer, Cuban practically admitted letting Chandler leave was a mistake. Seven months later, the same thing happens again. “You know, our hope is to get a few of these guys into a few live action very soon, and possibly tomorrow but I don’t know that for sure. That’s why it is what it is”. Keeping Chandler would’ve at least given the Mavericks a shot at the playoffs, but they’ll be relegated to the lottery again with the roster Cuban has put together.

Chandler was a free agent after the 2010-11 season ended. And the Mavs came thiiiiiiiiiis close to signing him too.
Both sides will move on, just as they did in 2011. It’s not that the Mavs didn’t want Chandler.
Loyalty just doesn’t have a place in professional sports. It’s about doing what’s best for you as a player and you as a team. It’s their right and their choice to do what seems right.
