With more than 1.25 billion visits to the Windows Store, Microsoft announced all-new universal apps for Windows 10, including Box, Facebook, Instagram, Candy Crush Soda Saga, Flipagram, Uber, and others.

Instead of seeing a blown up mobile interface on your phone’s small display, a monitor, when connected to the Lumia dock, will allow you to have a Windows 10 view that’s similar to what you see when you’re on a laptop or desktop.

“In fact, it’s hard to name another high-end hybrid laptop that’s quite so enticing”. Apple also asserts that the MacBook Pro will support “up to 12 hours iTunes movie playback” putting the two devices on an even keel.
That attached keyboard? It pops off to turn the Book into a Surface, or flips around and folds down.
The Surface Book houses a sixth-gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processor versus the fifth-gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processor on the MacBook Pro.
“Really, it’s all about the speed”.
Powered by Windows 10, the new Xbox One experience will also launch around the world in November.
I have a Surface Pro 3 with its optional Type Cover keyboard and while it works OK on a desk or table, it flops around if I try to use it on my lap or in bed. Just two years ago, Microsoft wrote down $900 million for losses related to its first-generation Surface RT tablet.
An area where the Surface Book has an edge over the Apple notebook is that the former can detach from the keyboard. Microsoft also boasts that the laptop is twice as fast as the MacBook Pro.
The company to some extent must know that it will likely never rival Apple and Google in market dominance – at least any time soon – and aside from universal apps, it’s been working to offer its products on their platforms.
The Surface Pro 3 has a 12-inch ClearType Full HD screen with 2160 x 1440 resolution, Microsoft’s official site noted. “The new @Microsoft Surface Book looks amazing. One day, one day, I’ll be able to afford one without guilt”, tweeted Mihail Morosan.
Unlike the company’s Surface Pro tablets, including the new Surface Pro 4, the new Surface Book is a laptop that actually can be used on your lap because it has a real hinge rather than a kickstand.

Pricing starts at $1,499 and will be available on October 26. The base unit will cost $899. “Remember that problem? It’s gone”, he said.
