Durga Puja festival ends with immersion of idols
“It is being used to effectively monitor and regulate traffic situation during immersion of Durga Puja idols”, Muktesh Chander Special Commissioner(Traffic) Delhi Police said.

The West Bengal Government remained on tenterhooks on Friday as the days to immerse Durga Puja idols in the Ganges are coincided with the Muharram procession on Saturday.
Women thronged the marquees (makeshift temples) throughout the town with vermillion and candies to bid farewell to the Goddess and her 4 youngsters.
Durga Puja, the greatest festival in the Bengali calendar, today ended with immersion of idols on Dashami amidst chants of “aasche bochchor abar hobe” (it will happen again next year). However, two teenage boys were electrocuted and six others suffered burn injuries when they came in contact with a live wire during the immersion of Goddess Durga at Barsan in Saharsa district. An element of emptiness at the end of the biggest celebration in this part of the country overcame all and sundry. Today is immersion and we’re having fun with it. But, after immersion, once we will return residence, will really feel very risky.
The origin of Durga Puja can be traced back to the 15th century.
