“It’s official. The Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series”, the site said.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.

The first play about the bespectacled wizard is based on a new story by Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.

Harry Potter fans have proposed the home and wings in the photo are reminiscent of a Golden Snitch, the littlest ball utilized as a part of a session of Quidditch.

Producers announced Friday that “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” will center on an adult Harry and his son Albus Severus.

The last Harry Potter book closes with an epilog – set 19 years after the principle plot finishes up – including Harry and his now-wife Ginny seeing their child off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. “As over a wide span of time breaker forebodingly, both father and child take in the uncomfortable truth: once in a while, haziness originates from sudden spots”.

An official synopsis released this morning clears up speculation that the play would centre on Harry’s early life with the Dursleys. Tiffany, who directed the musical “Once”, will stage the production.

“I’m confident that when audiences see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child they will understand why we chose to tell the story in this way”.

Instead the new story from JK Rowling will focus on a grownup Harry and his son, Albus Severus, who appears to be the “cursed child” of the title.

“Because it’s a play, it’s worth stressing that at this stage of the process it’s not our intention to have a high-tech show”.

The two parts are meant to be seen in order on the same day, or two consecutive evenings.

Tickets go on sale online on Wednesday, October 28 on a first come first served basis. 30 actors will star in the production and casting will be announced at a later date.

Preview performances for both parts officially begin on June 7, with July 30 marking the world premiere opening night. Tickets for the whole two-component show range ($31) to 130 pounds ($200).
