New Star Wars Trailer Sparks worldwide Fan Frenzy
“The Force Awakens”, directed by J.J. Abrams, is the first of three new “Star Wars” movies being produced by Disney since it purchased the franchise from Lucasfilm in 2012 for $4.05 billion.

But keen-eyed “Star Wars” fans have noticed something missing: Luke Skywalker.
While it is rare for tickets to go on sale two months ahead of a film’s release, studios will do it for big fan-anticipated films.
What’s more interesting is that so many people are clamoring for their first look at a film that’s been relatively shrouded in secrecy, at least as far as its actual plot and characters are concerned. However, fans noticed that tickets were being sold on a few sites earlier in the day.
Advance ticket sales for December’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” broke IMAX records with more than $6.5 million for US screenings, the theater chain said on Tuesday, and views for the latest trailer surpassed 21 million on social media.
Meanwhile, back on British shore, the demand for tickets sent cinema websites into a spin and Vue cinemas revealed 10,000 tickets were snapped up in just 90 minutes.
There are also glimpses of the stars of the original trilogy, with Harrison Ford’s Han Solo and Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca appearing, as well as a fleeting glimpse of Carrie Fisher as Leia. The Walt Disney Co., which is releasing the film, also owns ESPN.
AMC theaters are also now selling tickets for 39 “Star Wars” marathon events, during which all seven films will be shown on December. 17. They will be joined by new characters portrayed by Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega.
