Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Pittsburgh Steelers’ DeAngelo Williams Pays

The NFL told Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams he couldn’t wear pink past October – Breast Cancer Awareness month – to honor his mother, who died past year of breast cancer. Many walk to honor their own journey or to ensure that our future doesn’t have to endure this horrible disease.

A couple of months after having her son, she was diagnosed with late stage two and early stage three breast cancer.

“We had a lot of excitement with the survivor lap and had an Akron theme with Pink Tires around the Field House”, Gifford said.

However, talking about the walk she said that the gathering and the entire demonstration is a sign that cancer can’t douse the human spirit. All of its members are breast cancer survivors.

The American Cancer Society recommends all women should begin cervical cancer screening at age 21. Breast cancer remains the most frequently occurring cancer in women and is the 2nd leading cause of cancer deaths of women in North Carolina, but early diagnosis can make a difference.

Alison Johnstone, MSP for Lothian, more commonly out and about sporting greenish hues, has shown her support for women with breast cancer by dressing up in pink. We urge every woman to talk with their healthcare provider about which screening is right for you. One in eight women will be diagnosed with the disease.

“I am pleased that improving outcomes for breast cancer is a Government priority, but it is shocking that we still don’t have accurate data on those living with the incurable disease. All of us are touched by breast cancer, so why not raise awareness for it?”, Dove said.

Dr. Al Hattab said men who have been exposed to high levels of radiation or are carriers of the gene are more likely to have breast cancer.
