Eubank stops Jeter in 2nd round TKO

British middleweight Chris Eubank Jr says that last year’s defeat to Billy Joe Saunders was a “learning fight”.

Jeter had done well to recover from a first-round flattening but after just 29 seconds of the next, referee Howard Foster had little choice but to intervene as Eubank Jr set about him again.

Eubank, defending his nominal interim WBA middleweight title, was topping the bill in south Yorkshire after Kell Brook pulled out of his clash with the rugged Argentinian Diego Chaves.

The 26-year-old Brighton man will go back into camp quickly to prepare to face Irishman Spike O’Sullivan in London in December.

One of the power shots ripped the Maryland man’s head sideways, which led to the official’s immediate intervention. I firmly believe that Junior will be crowned a Middleweight World champion, will beat the likes of Gennady Golovkin, and will be recognised as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet. “Some may think the fight was stopped early, but I can’t control that”. “This was a warm-up fight”. I got off a few ring-rust and I’m getting ready for December 12 against a guy called Spike O’Sullivan. He was hurt badly and wasn’t in any position to continue.

“Personally, I think he’s kind of talked his way into the fight and doesn’t really want to be there”. He’s been talking a lot of smack over the last few years and now he’s got his chance to back up the talk.

Gavin McDonnell defended his European Super Bantamweight title with a unanimous decision against France’s Jeremy Parodi, extending the 29-year-old Yorkshireman’s unbeaten record to 16 fights.

Eubank Jr. will not only be making his debut on a Matchroom Boxing card, having signed up with promoter Eddie Hearn, but he will also have new trainer Adam Booth in his corner for the first time.

The referee stops the fight with Chris Eubank Jnr dominating Tony Jeter whose back was against the ropes
