Carrie Underwood opens up about ‘horrifying’ ‘American Idol’ experience
“I still haven’t figured out how to talk to the audience”, she said. “People might think you are nuts talking to yourself and telling yourself how awesome you are, but it helps to say, ‘I am strong.'” Underwood has just released her fifth studio album, Storyteller, which is described as more traditionally county than a few of her previous releases. “But it’s just a question of how am I going to do this?”

“I don’t think she thought the curlers were hot, not at all”, said Kotb later on.
The gorgeous “Like I’ll Never Love You Again”, well-crafted by songwriters Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna and Liz Rose, is set to be a country classic, one of those timeless ballads like Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” or Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” that is both stunningly new and instantly familiar.
“I think it had to be my doing to come in with the idea, or I would have resisted forever”, Underwood said. The result is an album that balances Underwood’s proven strengths with songs that show artistic growth by drawing more on the singer’s personal life.
“It’s interesting because there’s a few songs that I feel like we’ve been listening to, or we have been listening to for over a year”.
Carrie Underwood has described her time on “American Idol” as “the most horrifying thing”. “All new artists should take a lesson from her fearlessness”. “It’s not old, not old country, but it’s more traditional”. She even went as far as to call the experience “horrifying”.

Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher were excited to become parents and now that they have finally welcomed their baby boy into the world, the “Something In The Water” singer and the National Hockey League player are eager to spend a lot of time with their son. “Talking yourself up is a big thing”, she added. “She’s got a really sexy slinky quiet voice, too”.
