Roma placed the entire Serie A division on notice on Sunday afternoon as they successfully saw off title rivals, Fiorentina, 2-1 and in the process, they leapfrogged them to go top of the Italian top flight.

Salah was controversially sent off in the 87th minute after receiving two yellow cards within the space of 10 seconds, before Khouma Babacar netted to make it 2-1 well into stoppage time.
Juventus recorded only their third league win of the season with a 2-0 triumph over Atalanta, while Lazio defeated Torino 3-0.
Napoli, Fiorentina, Inter Milan, held to a 1-1 draw at Palermo on Saturday, and Lazio are all now just two points adrift of Roma after nine games.
Gonzalo Higuain fired Napoli to a 1-0 win over Chievo to send his team second, two points behind Roma.
Nevertheless, Domenico Berardi levelled the scoring after the break when he beat 16-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with a fine free-kick.
Salah’s move from Fiorentina to Roma has been a hot topic of debate and Federation Internationale de Football Association opened a breach of contract investigation last month, which could result in the player being sanctioned.
Salah was unsurprisingly loudly jeered by the Fiorentina fans but he responded by giving Roma the lead in the sixth minute.
Fiorentina eventually paid the price when Alessandro Florenzi pounced on a mis-hit pass to launch a long ball forward for Gervinho, who turned on the turbo boosters to power down the right flank. Miroslav Klose set up Anderson in the box and his diagonal strike beat Toro keeper Daniele Padelli.
Juventus was desperate for a win as it was 15th in Serie A, surprisingly five points below Atalanta.
