Texas can see itself in Kansas State team coming off blowout
Kansas State coach bill Snyder sent a letter to students this week apologizing after his team lost at home 55-0 to Oklahoma. “We had our opportunities and passed up on them”. Now the betting odds for the game have the Longhorns favored to pick up the victory.

Backup quarterback J.W. Walsh ran for three touchdowns and passed for two more to help No. 14 Oklahoma State defeat Kansas 58-10 on Saturday, hours after a fatal crash near the stadium during the school’s homecoming festivities.
Jonathan Gray led Texas with 103 rushing yards on 18 carries. He leads the team with five rushing touchdowns this season. And their defense toughened up, shutting out Texas in the third quarter. Had Dickson fallen on the ball, which he considered doing, K-State would’ve had the ball at UT’s 32 trailing by a touchdown to start the fourth quarter. The offensive line had an up and down performance today, but Gray ran hard and ripped off a couple of big gains at opportune times. “Just don’t buy into it. Let us continue to improve this football team, and let’s continue to get better because we can have us a good season, we just have to continue to play, we just cant go out there and go through the motions”. That was the challenge for him during the course of the week and he responded quite well. Hubener’s interception on Saturday was lobbed into triple coverage and set Texas up at midfield with less than three minutes to play. Now with Iowa State and Kansas up next, the Longhorns have a nice chance to boost up the record before closing out with at West Virginia, Texas Tech, and at Baylor.
“You can’t take the passing or running game and say it’s a collective success or failure”, Snyder said. It’s a mindset, you know? You can’t make any excuses as it relates to the weather, but that was an issue for both teams. But we have to better. I see a guy who took a lot of criticism from fans on Twitter, only a tiny bit of which might have been warranted.
On the ground, the Wildcats rank 82nd nationally at 161 yards per game.
This offense is effective enough with Jerrod Heard operating it until they get into short yardage and goal line situations.
The only conventional pass that Heard threw in the half was incomplete. The Wildcats walled up inside and contained the speedy Horns QB – holding Heard to just three carries for minus-10 yards in the second half.
Texas once again trotted their 6-foot-4-inch, 244 pound back-up quarterback back out and found pay dirt for his second touchdown of the half. D’Onta Foreman has 328 rushing yards and two TDs after recording back-to-back 100-yard games. “I’m not accepting one now”. We have to take it to heart and put it on our shoulders and we have to turn this around.
The lack of offense for the Wildcats comes after K-State collapsed against third-ranked TCU in week 5 of the college football season.

“We were warming up, and I called us up during warmup, and I had to tell them a few things because I just didn’t like the way we were warming up”, Strong said.
