“Rajan’s arrest is significant for investigating agencies as he can reveal unknown facts about underworld-police-political nexus”, said Y P Singh, IPS officer-turned-lawyer. He was an alleged crime boss in India and was suspected to have carried out 15 to 20 murders in India.

“Going by my past forgettable experience, I would say that neither am I excited nor very much hopeful because Rajan is yet to be deported to the country”. It proves as a very important catch for the government of India.

Police at Ngurah Rai Airport, in Denpasar, detained Nikalje on Sunday on an Interpol red notice.

Nikalje’s Wikipedia entry claims that he began his criminal career scalping cinema tickets and went on to become a lieutenant of another gangster, the leader of the notorious D-Company crime gang.

Nainggolan said police were questioning Kumar on Monday and coordinating with Indian diplomats.

He reportedly now suffers diabetes and requires kidney dialysis.

“On the request of CBI (Interpol-India), Bali Police has arrested Rajan, who has other names – Mohan Kumar alias Rajendra Sadhashiv Nikhalji alias Chhota Rajan”, CBI director Anil Sinha told TOI, confirming the arrest of Chhota Rajan. An australian spokesperson alerted the bali officials about his hideout.
