In a recent interview with IGN, Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that he will adapt his own interpretation of fan’s feedback and inject it right into Zelda Wii U’s huge open world.

The Legend of Zelda Wii U has been completely out of the limelight for a number of months now, with minimal information popping up at random. One has to wonder what kind of twist that they could implement in the open world for The Legend of Zelda Wii U that would set it apart from other similar games. Though he didn’t share any in-depth details, he did say that the development team is doing their best and that every day they “improve it bit by bit”.

Wow, can we?’ And so we went back and forth about it. When I created Marvelous [an action-adventure for the Super Nintendo released in Japan in 1996], it was a three-player game, and so I said ‘How about something like that?’

“We actually had a few feedback from Skyward Sword, where people were saying ‘This is not exactly the Zelda game I was looking for, I was looking for a bigger open world, ‘” he said. Both games also use a game design language that Zelda fans speak fluently by now-bombs work on cracks in the wall, big keys open big chests, and so on. “It is especially important to a producer of the series, so I hope to give something everyone can look forward to next year”.

Nintendo has not yet announced a new release window for Zelda – though many expect and hope it releases in 2016. Zelda is slated for a 2016 release on the Wii U.
