After Huawei and Apple, Xiaomi might be next in line to introduce 3D Touch-like pressure sensitive technology to its upcoming smartphone displays.

Xiaomi is the latest smartphone manufacturer rumored to be working on its own version of Apple’s pressure-sensitive 3D Touch display. In its efforts to become the next Apple, Xiaomi has been coming up with Apple-like devices as well as technologies. In fact, the tech firm has taken a step forward in making this happen by filing a patent for an application that works in the same way as that of Apple’s 3D Touch.

Apple, in a way, pioneered 3D Touch, which is a feature that responses with different functions based on the pressure of the user’s touch and press. Currently, the source (image given below) has only pointed that Xiaomi and Samsung will be using similar patents for Force Touch, but did not care to point out any of these details, which most likely means that we will hear more information about this in the near future. 3D Touch comes with three different types of input support. With this technology, not only taps and presses, but also deep press can be recognised. To recall, Samsung was earlier this month reported to been granted a patent for pressure sensitive touch technology by the Korean Intellectual Property Office. Another coincidence is that Xiaomi’s MIUI OS looks just like the iOS.
