Halloween costumes on a budget

Most of the money spent on costumes are for adults, not kids.

The National Retail Federation said Halloween shoppers will spend an average of $74 on costumes, candy and decorations.

Halloween is the start of the biggest shopping season of the year and in order to save money for other upcoming holidays, many people are stopping by thrift stores and using their creativity.

“This can be a campaign for the environment because we can promote saving nature or the earth by showing that these costumes are made from recycled materials that you can find anywhere”, he said.

Sometimes the price tag of costumes can be down right scary for Halloween. On a rack at St. Vincent de Paul, the same costume is just $29.99.

With only a few days until Halloween, you don’t have much time to prepare for your ground-breaking outfit now, do you? “We have way too many kids to go to the Halloween stores”.

“My daughter was crying because I told her she was wearing a Halloween costume and she said that she would get into trouble if she did”. Maintaining their 11 year reign, princess costumes will once again top the children’s costume list with an estimated 3.2 million tiny tots looking to dress the part.
