Disney, Lucasfilm React to Audience Response to New STAR WARS: THE FORCE

The official Star Wars website has announced today that the recently released Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens Trailer 3 has been viewed over 128 million times already. Fans in Norway braved sub-zero temperatures to purchase their tickets early. Fortunately, there are still a lot of tickets available for opening weekend and the following days. In the United Kingdom, more than 200,000 tickets were sold in the first day. Along with introducing a new generation of characters to the Star Wars universe, the film will bring back a few very familiar faces as well. Han & Chewbacca were shown clearly as not having changed much with just the one line “Chewie we’re home”, which was enough to turn millions of fans worldwide to goo and spawn many “Youtube reacts” videos.

That footage was recently added to the scenes featured in previous teasers for The Force Awakens to create an extended, unofficial “supercut” of Star Wars trailers. “But more than numbers, there was discussion, there were reaction videos, there were fun memes”, said a statement. “There were cheers and there were tears from fans young and old”.
