An autopsy found Nicholas had been stabbed more than 70 times with a screwdriver-like instrument and a blade found lodged in her body, a police affidavit said.

Debra Kincy, 63, who told police she found Charlotte Nicholas’ body in a pool of blood on the floor of her Oakland Park, Florida, apartment kitchen, is now behind bars, accused of murder with depraved indifference, false ownership and dealing in stolen property.

While crying, Kincy called Charlotte Nicholas “a good girl”, she continued by saying “She was such a sweet person”.

“But I called them as soon as I found her in the kitchen, and I couldn’t get any response out of her”, said Kincy.

Kincy even went on to lament the violence in her neighborhood, according to the paper.

The out-of-state fiance identified the rings she sold as jewelry he had given Nicholas.

BSO says on the day of the murder Kincy pawned a few of the victim’s jewelry, and she told a newspaper the victim was stabbed, though detectives never released that information.

‘A review of the crime scene photographs revealed that this same shaped stain can be seen on Kincy’s shirt in the same location, ‘ the police report said, according to the Sun-Sentinel. “Charlotte was fiercely independent, ‘ her sister, Mary Nicholas, said”.
