The Aussies showed a few remarkably tenacity to advance from the tournament’s supposed group of death (Group D) where they lost 4-1 to Germany, drew goalless with Mexico and edged Argentina 2-1.
Head Coach Emmanuel Amuneke said as much during Thursday’s training session at Compejo Despotivo La Alpina. “At this stage, everybody that has qualified must be respected”, explained Amuneke.
“We saw in Suwon how physical they (Croatia) can play and I agree with Lazarus that they were unlucky to have beaten us”.
After their 2-1 loss to Croatia last Friday, Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets on Saturday, arrived in Vina del Mar with preparations already on for their Round of 16 match on Wednesday.
The team of Nigeria line up before the FIFA U-17 Men’s World Cup 2015 group A match between Nigeria and United States of America at Estadio Nacional de Chile on October 17, 2015 in Santiago, Chile.
