Massachusetts Whole Foods Recall Curry Chicken Salad for Listeria

Whole Foods is recalling bulk and packaged Curry Chicken Salad and Classic Deli Pasta Salad sold in seven states due to possible Listeria contamination concerns. The food and drug administration announced the recall after a sample tested positive for listeria bacteria.

The full names the products are sold under as well as their codes can be found on the USDA or Whole Foods websites. Healthy people tend to exhibit short-term symptoms, which include nausea, abdominal pain, severe headache, high fever, and diarrhea.

Whole Foods Market in Massachusetts has officially recalled around 234 pounds of their curry chicken salad products. Till now, ten items of curry chicken salad and deli pasta sold in stores between Oct. 8 and Oct. 22 have already been recalled.

No confirmed adverse reaction associated with consumption of the products has so far been reported but pulling out the possibly contaminated products was deemed necessary.

7 oz. “Single Curry Chicken Salad Wrap, Made Right Here” with UPC Code # 263126. All those customers who have purchased these products can get their money refund from the stores by bringing their receipts to a Whole Foods Market.

12 oz. “Curry Chicken Salad Wrap, Made Right Here” with UPC Code # 263144.

The bacterium can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, usually in newborns, older adults, pregnant women and adults with weakened immune systems, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Pregnant women can experience stillbirth, miscarriage, or life-threatening infection in her baby. The FDA encourages anyone who has consumed these products and has developed these symptoms to seek immediate medical assistance. The affected products were sold in stores between Oct. 18 and Oct. 25 and have a sell by date of Oct. 23.
