Eagles’ defense rough up Manning to post 27-7 win
Nonetheless, here they are in the thick of the NFC East, tied atop the standings with the Eagles at 3-3 on the season. Meanwhile, DeMarco Murray finally had a starring role in the Eagles offense (rather than just a cameo), rushing for 109 yards and a score. There is still something I’m not digging about him and I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe I don’t like the way he finishes runs, but I’m not sure. Anyway, good job last night.

The Giants offensive line has exceeded expectations, but the secondary is getting torched. Haha! I’m joking of course.
Beckham credited the Eagles’ defense. I can’t stand Billy Davis as a defensive coordinator, but he did a lot right against the Giants.
Najee Goode replaced Ryans in the second half. They harassed Eli Manning all night and forced fumbles and interceptions.
Moore leads the team with three sacks, but his career has progressed slowly and his snap counts have never been very high because of deficiencies in his game, mostly against the run.
The Eagles may be in first place at the moment, but let’s not kid ourselves, this division is awful. He was brilliant Monday night. Larry Donnell’s blunder in the first quarter clearly changed the course of the game.
Not only did Moore cost his team 15 yards, the penalty also came on a third-down play that the Giants had stopped cold. That’s not exactly a stat category that fans want their team to lead in consistently. Another quick takeaway:Jordan Hicks should have been a first round pick-that kid can do it all. “We’ll see how it goes [this week]”. “We’ve just got to make more plays”. Darren Sproles of the Eagles was taken out of the game briefly and evaluated for a concussion, but he’d return and be okay. 500 on the season and keep their playoff hopes alive. We fixed them all and settled down. “We got after them pretty good today, and that was a big part of the game”, Eagles linebacker Brandon Graham said. Beckham got back on the field for the final drive. Murray and the Eagles seem to have put the friction about play-calling that cropped up earlier this year behind them.
Lions running back Zach Zenner is going on injured reserve with cracked ribs and a partially collapsed lung.
“It was just me having a poor football IQ and not being aware of the rules”, he said.
Oh yes you did. Instead, the Eagles’ drive continued all the way to the end zone, tying the score at 7-7 in what was the first of 27 unanswered points by the Eagles.
-Some of the penalties were bad, but at least they were bad in both directions.
The only certainty is that this collection of players and coaches will hold things together regardless. Carroll, not Maxwell, was able to be effectively matched up against Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. He was in the process of dropping that. After the first four weeks people were still saying that he’s shaking off the rust and needs time to re-adjust to the pace of the NFL. We’ve won our last two at home, we won three of our last four and that’s really how we are handling the rest of the season. But as bad as Bradford was against the Giants – and he was really bad – Manning not only played down to his level, but sunk even a bit lower. “You have to find the guys in single coverage and that’s what you have to wait for”.
Manning, who completed his first 10 passes, finished 24 of 38 for 189 yards, one touchdown and the two interceptions. Explain the other two. The first pick, Zack Ertz was open and Bradford chose to throw it nine yards above his head and right to Jayron Hosley.
– The hero from last week’s game is definitely one of this week’s goats. “A situation presents itself, you could be down 14-0”. The teams meet again in Week 17. “But to know that when we’re clicking and we’re rolling that we can go out and do that, it’s just going to give us confidence now to go out there and do it more often”. Clearly, clearly, not to understand the way in which the quarterback is protected and rightfully so and what can and can’t be done from the standpoint of his position, I mean, there’s no excuse for that.

A year ago the Eagles arrived in a 27-0 drubbing of the Giants on Sunday night, segued it into a Thursday night massacre of the Dallas Cowboys a month later and were ready to show the Seattle Seahawks a fun time when reality set in.
