The Thorpe Award is named after history’s greatest athlete, Jim Thorpe, and is presented by the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and Jim Thorpe Association in Oklahoma City.

Ramsey, an All-American and All-ACC player last season, leads the Seminoles with eight pass breakups and is fifth on the team with 25 tackles.

Cash enters this week’s game ranked second in the country in tackles for loss per game with 2.00 and is fourth in total TFL with 14.0. He returned a punt 69 yards for a touchdown in a 34-24 win over Syracuse on September 26.

He also doubles as LSU’s punt returner where he’s averaging 11.4 yards on nine returns. Thorpe excelled at every sport in which he competed, including football at which he played on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

The three Thorpe Award finalists will be named November 23 and the victor chosen December 10.
