Watch Michael J. Fox show off Nike’s self-lacing shoes on Kimmel
In honor of when Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveled to the future, Michael J. Fox, 54, got to try on those self-lacing Nike Air Mags that were predicted to be around in the future.

“It’s really cool for me because I’ve never seen them before, which everyone thinks I’m insane for not seeing them”, said Brianna Hopkins of Clarks Summit.
Just like Back to the Future 2 predicted, they lace up on their own.
Of course, after seeing the disappointment that is the real 2015, Marty and Doc Brown climb back in the Delorian to fix the time-space continuum, thinking that they traveled to an alternate timeline.
But lo and behold, the Cubs are now playing in the National League Championship Series against the New York Mets.
Though the ride wasn’t taking fans to the past or future, it was only riding them back and forth on the rails which appeared to be similar to the vehicle in “Back to the Future” Part III. In the film, October 22, 2015 is the date which McFly arrives in the future from 1985 and finds there are hovering skateboards and flying cars.
The sketch also saw an appearance from Huey Lewis of Back to the Future anthem “The Power of Love” fame. “Call me an optimist, but I believe that by 2045 we’ll find the cures we seek – especially because of all the smart, passionate people working to make it happen”, he wrote.
“Doc, it seems like 2015 kinda sucks”, quipped Fox, as McFly. In January, Tinker Hatfield, the man who designed Nike Mag for the 1989 movie, said his team was working hard to release the shoe this year. Stars Christopher Lloyd and Claudia Wells, as well as screenwriter-producer Bob Gale will attend.

Sneakerheads and “Back to the Future” fans had been hopefully anticipating that Nike would produce the shoe for commercial sale. The new trilogy set is packed with extras.
