But if all that wasn’t exciting enough, there is another Doctor about to make a return to the show, audio wise anyway….
In her story, Time Reaver, the Doctor and Donna arrive on the planet Calibris, an entirely mechanical planet, where a deadly black market has opened up in a device known only as the Time Reaver. What can possibly go wrong? Are you excited to hear the new adventures of the Tenth Doctor and Donna? Catherine Tate made her début as Donna in December 2006, and after a series and two festive specials she made her last appearance alongside Tennant on 1 January 2010.
It’s the sort of news that Doctor Fans dream about – David Tennant and Catherine Tate are re-joining forces to bring to life a new series of Doctor Who audio dramas. The pair have signed up to recreate their roles for audio in a series due for release in 2016.
Each hour-long story is being made in conjunction with BBC Worldwide, presumably to ensure they slot in with the previously established adventures of the Doctor and Donna-but hopefully it also means we’ll not just see a lot more stories from not just this Doctor and companion, but adventures for former Doctors like Matt Smith or Christopher Eccleston.
The series opens with Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Technophobia by Matt Fitton, which is set in a London slightly in the future, where mankind is gradually losing its ability to use everyday technology.

Executive producer Nicholas Briggs says he was delighted to be collaborating with his “old chum” Tennant again: “I’ve enjoyed working with all the Doctors on TV, but David is on the only one I’d known before he became the Doctor, ‘ he said”. I’m covered in bruises, ‘ said producer David Richardson. “Expect adventure, fun, scares… and a few tears too”. CD’s are also available, including a limited edition set that features exclusive artwork, photography and a documentary about the making of The Tenth Doctor Adventures.
