Netflix has given Tucker the chance to show he’s still got the goods for comedy with Chris Tucker Live, and the first teaser trailer for the stand-up special has just debuted online.

Tucker’s roots are in stand-up comedy. To me, that makes it even more surprising this is Tucker’s first stand up special. In the mid “90s, however, his star began to rise and he was cast in several feature films, among them the Rush Hour series (starring alongside Jackie Chan), and Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element“.

The trailer was released on July 6, giving fans a taste of Tucker’s performance. “It’s always been a part of me, and now I’m excited to share it with my fans around the world”. “We cannot wait to share his distinct and hilarious voice with our members across the globe”. The special, filmed at the Fox Theatre in Tucker’s (and Paste’s) hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, will stream exclusively on Netflix beginning this week.
