Rihanna to appear on ‘The Voice’ as adviser
Next, Shelton matched his two steals from the Battle Round, Chance Pena and Ivonne Acero.

How did it play out?
The duet did Stupid Boy by Keith Urban while Blaine tried James Bay’s Hold Back The River.
Tonight, it all starts with a rumble between Team Adam’s ethereal twins Andi & Alex and one of his steals from the Battles, rocker Blaine Mitchell. Sure, those harmonies could get a little exhausted and the interplay between the solo verses and textures in the choruses. Check it out with us during our The Voice 2015 Live Recap and see who got eliminated on The Voice 2015 tonight!
RESULTS – Braiden Sunshine is the victor and now steals for Ellie Lawrence, so she is headed home! Blaine Mitchell gets to move on to the live shows. Blake said he got the two best steals of the show with them. Braiden opted to sing “Feeling Good” by Michael Buble, and Rihanna and Gwen totally made him over by urging him to slick his hair back. He’s a baby crooner and handled this song like a baby crooner pro.
Ellie Lawrence, “Cool for the Summer”: Ellie Lawrence’s tryout performance of “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off” has been one of the big stunners of season 9, so she should have been an easy win for this battle. But, like Demi Lovato, she does the best with ballads, and she stumbled hard on this song. Long gone were those cool tones, instead she warbled her way through this song.
NBC/Tyler Golden/NBC Braiden Sunshine blew Ellie out of the water with his performance. Ellie’s poor song choice did her in.
It was an uphill battle for Viktor, and there was really never a chance that Jordan was making an early exit.
‘What is happening!?’ What is going on?’ screamed Gwen as she leaped to her feet to applaud.
A music superstar brings her talent to “The Voice” this week. He has a place in modern country, and this performance made that clear. On the other hand, Blind Joe chooses “Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys” by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Shelton paired Barrett Baber with Blind Joe.
Rihanna asked Barrett to feel the emotion of “Colder Weather”, and he did. Vocally, these guys are pretty much even, but being an artist is so much more than that, and Barrett had that edge. Blind Joe held a unique space on The Voice, but his time was up. Though it pains him to do it, he sends the inspirational contestant packing, and advances Barrett to the Live Playoffs.
‘You took that song to another level, ‘ Pharrell agreed after his performance, but Joe complained of nerves and made a couple of mistakes. This song is filled with dynamics, and moments that are small and intimate and massively lovelorn. Pharrell said there is something magical about where Madi’s spirit takes a song and Amy is so good with where she takes the song. Everything that he told her and taught her in rehearsals were thrown out on that stage, as she told her to not touch the mic and Amy didn’t seem to stop touching it! Ivonne does a great job and she put a twist on that Katy Perry song.
For “Team Pharrell”, Amy Vachal performed “A Sunday Kind Of Love” against Madi Davis, who sang “A Case Of You”.
Pharrell said he wants a team of individuals.
Pharrell shockingly went with Madi, maybe because at 16 she has more upside, but there was no way that Amy was going home after her stunning performance. Adam chose Blaine to move on, and with only one Steal each, the rest of the coaches just weren’t ready to push their buttons just yet.
Finishing the night is a Team Adam knockout that seems like a rough matchup because it’s two of his best artists.
Chance Pena, “Demons”: Chace Pena took this bombastic, angsty song and gave it a sort of High School Musical makeover. Blake admitted he screwed up by letting Blaine go during the “Battle Round”, and Pharrell said Blaine had “a moment”. She has a few struggle hitting that big note, which was rough, but she powered through it. Those emotions came through, and she worked the ebbs and flows of this song like a girl who really has come out stronger on the other side.
Who technically won this knockout? She nailed the rising and falling notes that Perry brought into the original and produced a stunning performance. Chance is just a little too green; he needs life experience before he can really make it as an artist.
Jordan was ambitious enough to try Adele’s Set Fire To The Rain. Adam always warns people about covering Adele.
The young singer’s transformation from a season 8 disappointment to a season 9 contender makes her storyline even more compelling.
At one point he took the song into a near impossible register, and it was that note that really allowed him to compete with his nearly otherworldly opponent.
Stefani and Rihanna gave Sunshine more advice about the performance. The denim jumpsuit-clad pop star came in with such profound sentiments as “You’re like a dad, and these are your kids” and “I’d be terrified to sing Adele unless I was really drunk at karaoke”.

Blaine proved that passion in a song was more important to Adam than potential. He went with Smith, but it ended up working out with Kiraly, who was stolen by Stefani in the night’s final twist.
