Kerrigan suffered the injury during the first quarter of Sunday’s game and missed the remainder of the contest. Rapoport states that with the Redskins having a bye this week, Kerrigan may not have to miss any time.

After Kerrigan, Bashaud Breeland might be the next best Redskins defender that played yesterday.

But with Washington off until a November 8 game at New England, there seems to be a few hope he won’t be out long.

“I don’t anticipate it keeping me out for a while”, said Kerrigan, who left the locker room with his right hand wrapped. He attended Purdue from 2007-10 and was named second-team All Big-Ten as a junior and was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.

Now rated as the No. 16 3-4 outside linebacker in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus, Kerrigan was the No. 3 player at the position in 2014 according to the acclaimed analytics site.

Breeland strained a hamstring while running down running back Doug Martin to prevent a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Perry Riley has a bruised lower leg strain and Keenan Robinson has a “slightly” fractured rib and oblique strain, but Gruden thinks both will be ok. At the moment Gruden put Lichtensteiger’s health at 60%.
