Warriors embracing role of favorite as new season begins

After converting on 76.8% of their opportunities from the charity stripe last regular season, Golden State tallied a 68.2 free throw percentage which tied Philadelphia for 28th in the league. There was Stephen Curry, the NBA’s reigning MVP, pushing the ball in transition, making an around-the-back pass to Klay Thompson, who threaded a pass to a cutting Draymond Green, who kicked it back out to Curry alone in the corner. “I think as a team we should be able to feed off of that energy in the building”. Fans can not wait to see these players back on the court, doing what they do best.

On Monday, the team had their final practice.

Davis, who’s 6-foot-10, switched onto guarding the 6-3 Curry at times during the teams’ first-round playoff series the Warriors swept in April.

“It takes away from the focus being 100% on the game, because it’s such a big night and it’s important and it’s a night that these guys are going to remember the rest of their lives”.

“Yes, we were able to get to where we wanted to get to, but we didn’t close the deal”, LeBron James said.

The Warriors also have invited Sacramento-based USA airman Spencer Stone, who along with two friends helped thwart a suspected terrorist attack on a train in France in August.

But one of the biggest challenges Golden State is going to face won’t be on the court – it’ll be in their heads.

Chicago have seemingly embraced the new coach’s methods and look a good bet for a high finish in the Eastern Conference this season. The San Antonio Spurs added LaMarcus Aldridge and David West, and the Cavaliers will get back Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving (eventually). And until they pose a legitimate reason to convince us otherwise, they’re in the best shape to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy. It’s possible they’ll all have dots on Golden State’s map to 2016 riches.

“You look to the left and see a basket”. The common denominator? Every one of their teams desperately needs them.

Bogut, the 30-year-old, 213cm tall centre from Endeavour Hills in Melbourne’s south-east who shed 10kg in the off-season after cutting sugar from his diet, says he’s fit to play, despite having surgery on his broken nose a week ago.

National Basketball Association vice president of global media distribution Jeff Marsilio told The San Diego Union-Tribune: “We are a truly worldwide league with fans all over the world, and while the best experience is attending a game, for most of these fans, they’ll never have the opportunity to sit courtside at a game”. Also factoring in the loss of Alvin Gentry – new Pelicans head coach – the team will be without their top two coaching personalities from a championship campaign. Well, until he goes to the visitor’s bench following all the pregame fanfare.

“In all the research that has been done, and all the talk about it, the difference between the first year and the second year is the team’s motivation.”

“That moment isn’t about talking smack”.

“And then five minutes later, you’ve got to turn it on and remember your preparation for the Pelicans and try to get your first win at home”.

As mentioned, there are quite a few inside jokes used that really only the Golden State Warriors players would get, but Bleacher Report was kind enough to explain them in detail.
