“The combined swells will create elevated to high surf along the Southwest California Coastline”, the statement said.
King Tide – the highest high tide of the year – is happening along Delmarva’s coast this week, peaking the mornings of Oct. 27 and Oct. 28 at about 8 and 9 a.m. In San Diego the beaches that will be most effected: Sunset, La Jolla Shores, Imperial, Cardiff and Oceanside. Temperatures in Seal Beach and Huntington Beach on Wednesday are expected to be in the mid 70s.
Long Beach, Malibu, Port Hueneme, and Pismo and Oceano beaches are seen as particularly prone to flooding.
“Minor flooding of low-lying ares along the beach … including beach parking lots and possibly adjacent streets”. During the King Tide, the moon is at the closest point to Earth on its monthly orbit, and is also aligned with the sun, with the Earth in between, exerting a stronger than usual pull on the water.
The high surf advisory is due to a “large storm system extending across the Central Pacific [Ocean]”.

The NWS is expecting significant beach erosion will continue. “Be sure to always keep your eyes on the ocean”. “Please visit your local fire station to get the sandbags you need to protect your property from flooding”. Higher-than-normal tides are expected to affect the coast through Halloween.
