Interview: Suspect in SF pier attack admits he shot woman
A San Francisco lady was not too long ago shot and killed in a seemingly “random shooting” although she was strolling and taking photos with her father in a tourist-heavy area of the city, according to the authorities and the victim’s household.

Officers arrested Francisco Sanchez in the slaying of Kathryn Steinle about an hour after it occurred. Police said witnesses heard no argument or dispute before the shooting, suggesting it was a random attack.
He said he felt sorry for Ms Steinle’s family.
Steinle, a San Francisco resident, worked as a sales representative for Medtronic, Inc., a Mountain View-based medical technology company, Sullivan said. Sullivan said her heart stopped twice on the way to the hospital and she died during surgery. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) databases indicate the individual charged in this case has been previously deported five times, most recently in 2009. His criminal history includes seven prior felony convictions, involving narcotics charges and violence. ICE specified that they demanded an immigration detainer, informing the agency to be watchful on him before he was released. The San Francisco County sheriff’s department doesn’t honor ICE detainers under the city/county sanctuary-city policy.
Meantime, Steinle’s family told reporters that while it would have been better if Sanchez had been deported, the family is not dwelling on it because it wouldn’t bring back Steinle.
After discharging him from federal prison, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement kept Lopez in their custody in March and later turned him over to San Francisco deputies. A 2013 city law signed by Mayor Ed Lee outlawed detaining immigrants exclusively on the basis of whether they legally entered the country.
“She won’t get to meet my daughter”, Brad said through tears.
But he said the weapon – which he said he found laying on the ground wrapped in a T-shirt – went off by accident when he picked it up, according to KGO.
San Francisco is a sanctuary city which means it’s a great place for Obama’s criminal DREAMERs who occasionally kill people.
He added, “The day before Kate died she changed her Facebook cover photo with a saying that said, ‘Whatever’s good for your soul…do that.’ Please always remember Kate and live your life by these words”. Yet the feds could have arranged for his transfer back to federal confinement through a simple court order, San Francisco officials told the Times. According to Det. Knowles, reentry into the United States after deportation is a felony punishable by up to 20-years in federal prison.
If ICE agents determine those people have problems with their immigration status, they would request that the local agency “hold” the person so an ICE agent could pick them up. Tests are being done, but investigators believe it’s the one used by Sanchez, the man who was caught later that night not far from the shooting.

During his interview, Sanchez told KGO that he had been looking for work in a restaurant or as a construction worker but had not been able to find a job.
