High tides, swell could bring coastal flooding to California

Vaughn says residents can pull a parking card when entering any city-owned garage, then upon leaving, the resident should submit the card and tell the attendant they were in for high tides and rain in their residential area.

A coastal flood advisory remains in effect for all coastal locations in South Carolina from 7 p.m.to midnight on Tuesday.

The sun and the moon will line up to bring high tides near 7 feet during the mid- to late morning hours through Friday.

Seal Beach, which is prone to shoreline flooding, coincidentally started early on creating giant sand berms that protect beachfront property from winter storms. “Strong rip currents are expected … peaking on Thursday”.

High tides have prompted a coastal flooding advisory affecting several beaches throughout Southern California.

The NWS added this precaution: “A beach hazard statement for large shore break means that conditions are present to support large breaking waves in shallow water. Be sure to always keep your eyes on the ocean”.
