In a television interview on Monday night, Davutoglu said Turkey had warned the Kurdish Peoples’ Protection Unit (YPG) and its political wing, the PYD, not to move west of the Euphrates River.

The Kurds say no casualties were reported.

The YPG, in a statement, said Turkish forces attacked its position three times since Sunday, but said all the incidents were east of the Euphrates.

The announcement blaming the Daesh Takfiri militant group comes against the backdrop of Ankara’s support for the terrorist group.

He said the meeting in Paris would be among foreign ministers of the nine countries that are members of the Syria’s Friends Group.

Turkey reacted angrily to news that a U.S. weapons drop in northern Syria on 11 October had been intended for the YPG with Davutoglu accusing Washington of double standards and not respecting Turkey’s national security.

He continued, “We will under no circumstances allow northern Syria to become a victim of their scheming”.

The spokesperson said the Alliance, as before, stands ready to defend Turkey from any threats.

Kurdish fighters expelled Islamic State militants from Tal Abyad in June, dealing a major blow to the extremist group’s abilities to access supply routes across the Turkish borders. They deny aiming to establish their own state.

Millions of Syrians have fled their country due to the ongoing conflict.

The government said a suicide bomber caused the deaths of the two officers, and injuries to five security force members.
