Matic: I did what Mourinho asked of me in Kiev
He was voted Chelsea’s player of the year for the last two years in a row and also won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award last season, after leading Chelsea to the Premier League and Capital One Cup titles. “We are not in a great position but we are working hard and slowly we will get back to what we had last season”, Matic told Chelsea’s official website.

Mourinho has insisted that he does not want Costa to change the way he plays the game and now the Spanish striker has stated he intends to continue in the same manner so long as he has the support of his boss.
‘Some of the stuff he [Mourinho] is coming out with at the moment and over recent weeks is not far from a meltdown. It’s John Carver-esque.
Mourinho tempered his criticism of Skomina, saying that the official’s refereeing Tuesday was “very good” apart from the penalty incident.
“We have the game at home, Dynamo plays against Porto so they have to lose points”.
The Blues have endured a torrid start to their season and are sitting 12th in the Premier League standings with a tally of 11 points from their first nine games.
He continued: “And he’s done it with most of the players”.
“I think the referee was very good”. You need your players, your main players, on board.
“We hit the post, [should have] had a penalty”, Mourinho said.
Eden Hazard’s Belgium coach, Marc Wilmots, would welcome a move to Real Madrid for his star player over fears that he could suffer burnout at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho.
And Mourinho believes Skomina’s decision not to award Chelsea a penalty after Fabregas was brought down was just as impactful.
Asked about his Chelsea team-mate’s response to being dropped and then recalled, the midfielder Nemanja Matic said: “What I can say about him is that Eden is a great guy, a great player, the best player in the league a year ago, very important for us. But, game by game, we will be better and better”.
“He’s upset everybody for no reason”. Things have not been going well but it’s still early in the season.
