Rev. Al Sharpton announced on Tuesday he won’t give the eulogy for slain NYPD Officer Randolph Holder at his funeral.

Following Howard’s arrest one week ago, cops said he was charged with murder and robbery – the latter charge for stealing a bicycle at gunpoint from a man sitting on the promenade along the East River.

For five days, police scuba divers, working in pairs, combed 67,000 square feet of riverbed while on their stomachs in search of the handgun believed to have been used in the fatal shooting of a New York City police officer last week.

Relatives say the 33-year-old Holder made his family his No. 1 priority.

The prominent activist, media figure and long-time critic of the New York City Police Department was asked to speak at the service by Holder’s father, a spokesman for Sharpton said.

Sharpton’s announcement came hours after Holder’s fiance was quoted in the New York Post as saying the officer disliked Sharpton. Sharpton said over the weekend that he had been invited to the funeral by Holder’s father, a former police officer in his native Guyana.

“Maybe the family doesn’t understand his history with the NYPD”, Mullins said. Here are the details for Holder’s viewing and funeral services: Public ViewingTuesday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. He is the fourth New York City officer killed in the line of duty in the last 12 months.

Burial Officer Holder will be buried in Georgetown, Guyana, where he is originally from.

We send our prayer’s to the victim’s family. Law enforcement officers also paid tribute to Holder at the National September 11 Memorial in lower Manhattan on Thursday, October 22, 2015. It is important this ugliness, whether it is police turning their backs on a mayor at a hospital, or people demonizing civil rights leaders for raising civil rights issues, stop and real respectful dialogue occur.
