‘Supergirl’ Adds Henry Czerny as Toyman
It was recently revealed that CBS’ Supergirl was looking for an actor to play Toyman, and they’ve now chosen Mission: Impossible and Revenge actor Henry Czerny to take on the role of the iconic Superman villain.

In the show, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is close friends with Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan). According to Supergirl.TV, Warner Bros. described the character as “a classic D.C. supervillain, a mad criminal genius… and Winn’s [Jeremy Jordan] estranged father”. It also remains to be seen whether this version of Toyman has a previous history with Superman, as he is known for being one of the Man of Steel’s rogues in the comic books.
The series follows Kara Zor-El/Supergirl who escaped Krypton amid its destruction years ago, hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin, Superman, since arriving on Earth. Toyman weaponizes toys to wreak detraction and revenged, but he is ultimately driven by an obsessive desire to reunite with his son.

Czerny is now set to appear in just one upcoming episode of the super series. Supergirlpremieres tonight at 8:30 p.m. EST on CBS (following The Big Bang Theory), and next week it will move into its normal 8 p.m. timeslot.
