Mourinho slams ‘stupid’ ex-players for Chelsea criticism

While there are claims that Jose Mourinho’s job as manager of Chelsea hinges on if he beats Liverpool in the Premier League next weekend, the Portuguese’s position actually depends on how Chelsea play against Stoke City in the Capital One Cup tonight.

He has been linked to Real Madrid and if things keep going this way, the 24-year-old will not stay at Stamford Bridge. “Thursday is one more day like the last 15 years of my life”. With Stoke lying a spot above Chelsea on the points table, Hughes is hoping that his side can take advantage of the London club’s dip because he expects them to recapture their best form soon. We scored a goal.

Word is that Chelsea’s senior players have become disillusioned by Mourinho’s sour demeanour and now believe it is a case of ‘when not if’ as far as their manager being canned is concerned.

“It is a big blow for us, of course to lose the game, but even more for the other competitions, which are very important for us, to lose two players of that stature”.

There was a few poor defending from the visitors, including from captain John Terry, who backed away from his rival which in turn gave Walters time and space to apply the finish and hand the hosts the lead. I don’t think Mourinho leaving the club would be a smart move but you never know nowadays.

It would go from bad to worse for Stoke, as Phil Bardsley was shown a second yellow card, leaving them a man down.

Lampard was recognised for a career in British football that spanned 20 years and saw him win a clutch of medals with Chelsea and play for England more than 100 times.

The loss means Chelsea have won just one of their last six games since beating Walsall in the third round last month so Mourinho desperately needs a win to ease the mounting pressure on his shoulders.

After suffering the indignity of having to sit among celebrating West Ham fans as Andy Carroll headed the late victor, he then ignored Premier League regulations by refusing to speak to the media after the match and is likely to face a another fine as a result.
