Shiv Sana disrupts play by Pakistani group in Delhi, rip Pak flags

Around 5-6 young men claiming to be Shiv Sainiks climbed atop the stage at an open air theatre in Gurgaon, on Delhi’s outskirts, where a group of seven Pakistani actors were staging a play “Banjh” (infertile). “They asked us, ‘Why did you invite theatre artistes from Pakistan?’ But they were only shouting slogans and didn’t do any damage”.

“The play was disrupted for about 10 minutes, but it took us hardly 1-2 minutes to quieten the protesters down”. “Our family members were anxious about our security”.

“We are witnessing different protests across the nation criticising the Modi-led NDA government for its track record on religious tolerance and freedom of speech and expression…” In a swift action, all the four accused have been arrested.

Speaking to ANI, Rituraj, who claimed to be Shiv Sena’s media incharge said, “We will continue to do this till Pakistan doesn’t stop ceasefire violations at the border”. Later, they doused with ink the organiser of a book launch event for ex-Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Kasuri. And last week, dozens of Shiv Sena activists had stormed the offices of Indian cricket chief and forced him to cancel a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Deepak Saharan said that the police had no written information about the play and also they had not received any complaint so far in this regard.
